The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has laid a bold and transformative roadmap for multidisciplinary, flexible, and experiential learning. By targeting an investment of 6 % of GDP in education, introducing flexible curricula, and emphasising Indian Knowledge Systems alongside global competencies, NEP 2020 sets the stage for bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world skills. While India currently has only 6.8 % of adults (15+) with formal vocational training, the momentum is shifting — with initiatives aiming to ensure more than half of secondary and tertiary students receive vocational exposure by 2025. This opens the door for India's youth to not only meet domestic industry demand but also lead on the global stage.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Eastern Region is organizing the 4th edition of Education East 2025 on 30-31 October 2025 in Kolkata.
